Scrapbook Album Cover Spiff-Up

I love Stampin’ Up!’s premium scrapbook albums.  They’re durable, pretty and fun to decorate–both inside and out!  So I decided to decorate my 6″x6″ Mellow Moss album–it was really simple to do and it added just enough pizzazz to my cover.

Sneak Peek!

Isn’t this card just lovely?  This is from the new “Autumn Days” set available July 1st.  I just love the versatility of this set–and it’s not just for Fall projects either!  This card features two of the new In Colors:  Crushed Curry and Dusty Durango–Love love love ‘em!!

I used the distressing tool on my handy-dandy “Cutter Kit” to distress the edges and give this project some added texture.  I did this on the top and bottom of the Dusty Durango strip, and also on the Crushed Curry “wishing you” piece.

To finish this one off, I stamped part of the sentiment from the Heard from the Heart stamp on Whisper White.  To do this, I took my Basic Black Stampin’ Write Marker and colored directly onto the stamp–only the words that I wanted to use.  Then, I gave it a little “huff” and stamped it out onto my paper, and cut it out with my paper snips.

The little swirly design behind the sentiment was done using the elegant “Illuminations” set.  I used the “Cherish” stamp and colored in a small section of the swirls with my Crushed Curry Stampin’ Write Marker.  Then I repeated the process and turned the stamp the other way for a few more swirls.
